High grade and lots of luster means that it HASN'T been in circulation very long. It has spent all that time probably in a change jar or in some other collectors hoard that just got spent recently by someone that didn't know any better. Just because a 50 year old coin is found in circulation doesn't mean that it has actually been circulating for 50 years.

I agree with Conder101.

Not much chance that this coin would have survived 50 years of passing through peoples hands without someone noticing the clip.

Possibly a result of Susie making a raid on Grandma's piggy bank.

Thank you 11997755. If it was truly in circulation for 50 years straight, it would be very worn and have almost no details left. Most likely someone raiding through a coin collecter's pile.
