Hi guys:

I recently found these in an old envelope.

Are these worth anything more than their face value?

Thanks for your help!

The 1977 might get you a $10-15 premium but the other one looks stained so face value only.

No.

Not old enough, too common, not uncirculated, not fancy, too much money to tie up while waiting for ROI.

I get those at shows all the time. They're pretty common.

If they were crisp and clean maybe a slight premium, but probably not enough to justify $200 being held.

The top one has crease marks and the bottom one has stains so nether is a keeper anyway.

Very few non-star $100 FRNs printed since the end of the 1950 series have much value, even in average uncirculated grades much less with evidence of wear. In fact, with the exception of the short-run 1950E notes, the vast majority of non-star $100 notes across the entire 1950-Plain,A,B,C, and D series have relatively small premiums even in average uncirculated grades. To wit, this very choice crisp new series 1950 note I picked up recently for about $140 as a gamble for a 65PQ submission - if I don't get it, I lose money on the deal.

Still a pretty good find. I'm ecstatic when I find a $20 bill in the pocket of a ski jacket I haven't used in years!

;-)
