Still working on my pet project; the foundations are laid, bit the monumental task of getting images done and optimized for upload has the project grounded for the time being - just not enough hours in the day. This purchase had been nagging at me, so I just had to finally share it.

Finn 1.4.4 (Coin 01)

I define the early intermediate style of this series (1.4, the proper Gadhaiya Paisa coins) as being marked by the earliest appearance of the thick, dumpy flan style and the upward trend in weight standard, while still retaining the careful execution of the design and the line through the eye. This is one of the finest examples of the type I have seen, remarkably with no major flan cracks, a rich and visually appealing tone, and a complete impression of the reverse die.
I purchased a copy of Maheshwari's book on the series two months ago; after a month of fighting with the company, I convinced them that it must have been lost in the mail and will never arrive - got a refund last week and now I get to try again. I'm hoping to own one by the end of the year at least.
