Pretty new to the collecting world. I'm starting to try and gather Large Cent pieces. Love the history, the size on them, the rich color. I haven't gotten any online before, just shows and auctions. Interested in this one, but still not the best at determining from the picture itscondition or whether it looks cleaned or not. Would love any help you all want to give. Thanks in advance!

I understand why. That's a poorly lit pic and determining grade off of it alone is challenging. Originality, I think is much easier and I would say it has original surfaces. Make sure you have return privileges just in case. On grade I would say vf30 based off of what I can see. I would take the gamble on it as long as you have return privileges. Also  to CCF!

I say it has old cleaning. You can see a discolored film around most of the lettering on the reverse.

pics are not great for showing true color I think. Has VF sharpness but color to me is off.

It might make 30, but the photos aren't worthy of a precise grade assignment.
As for cleaned, I don't see any indications of dipping or mechanical cleaning.
It's a very common date. So unless you are getting it for a great price, an EF 40 wouldn't cost much more.

looks mid to high VF, however, if I was buying this I would be a little leery going by these pics. there could be some surface issues that are not showing here. you could ask for better pics but you'll have to decide if you want to take the risk if the price is right
