Coinhappy03 New Member United States 6 Posts	Posted 11/05/2017 11:07 pm Hi I came across this 1973 Washington quarter, it is very thin weight is about 5.5 grams center is sunk in but looks to have some ridges. looking forward to hearing what you think. spru Bedrock of the Community United States 12477 Posts	Posted 11/05/2017 11:44 pm Your coin was eaten away by acid or acidic soil. Notice the "trench" on the edge. That is created because the exposed copper core is eaten away more quickly than the copper-nickel cladding. Just damaged, I'm afraid. In high school they had us go to an assembly about drugs and sex. We all laughed about drugs. "What are they talking about?" So when people ask me if I took drugs in the 60's. I said yes. "Asprin, Bufferin, Pepto Bismol and Alka Seltzer." LOL Never did or ever will take drugs. Report this Post to the Staff
