1966 Quarter With Clipped Planchet

hmmm, my uncle thought this might be man made. On the obverse the you'll notice the lines along the right edge of the clip almost look like sanding which also seems to have hit the top of Washington's head

The reverse looks like a very clean cut.

The closeup of the edge has vertical lines from front to back of coin which seems to indicate a man made cut.

It sure has been clipped but it does not look like it was by the Mint.The Silver color on the edge above the copper has been filed.

I have a counterfeit silver quarter that has a piece taken out of it just like this one.

I've seen old coins made into tiny gears and kitchen tools so I just wondered about this one. It doesn't look damaged. It looks like it was precisely cut at that angle for a reason. Of course, it's possible that the missing piece was necessary for something or other.
