I disagree. The coin posted is definitely a Small Date. Other than that, I can only speculate. It has a D mintmark and has the appearance of a copper cent. If it does actually weigh 3.1g, this needs more attention and opinions, especially concerning the mintmark and its position. Where did this come from Starrvillain?

I'd like to see others' opinions on it here, first. Can you post a full pic of the reverse and maybe a closeup of the date/mm?

I would keep the coin in a very safe place until a determination is made of exactly what it is.

When you see them side by side you will see, it is not just the date that is different. 1. Devices are smaller. 2. The bust is smaller. 3. More space under the motto for the top of the head. 4. The date is further centered. 5. There is more space between the 'Y' on LIBERTY and the bust on the small dates.

I got tired of looking at the original sideways pic, so I messed with it a bit: Here's a closeup of the date/mm (at the original angle of course, just rotated):

I agree with Spruett, it sure looks like a SD and definitely worth looking into further, it could be the real deal. Caliber your scale and do another weight test, also do a magnet test.

I have done both I calibrated the scale and it weighs the same as before and the magnet had no effect on it what so ever so who do I contact about further confirmation?
