Ok. Got the Morgan and Peace dollars with me and a few Misc. Will try to take proper pics tonight of the Peace dollars. There's one from 21, and a bunch from 22 then a couple here and there. Thanks again.

As far as common 90%, have you checked if there is a local coin club?
Would also be an outlet for numismatic items as well.

Quote: I have to sort through the silver again pulling the years/mints and shinny ones tube by tube. Which ones can be sold independently, with those of significant over 30$ value going to Great Collections Raw to be graded and cosigned. I like your idea of setting up an ebay store. I would sell individual coins $30 to $150 on ebay. You may want to consider selling in lots the lower value coins because they will eat up your dollars in shipping costs. If you are going the ebay route, you need to learn to take quality coin photos. I would not send anything under $150 value to Great Collections as you will pay grading fee ($12 economy), seller fee 5% for coins under 1K, shipping. You will make more money selling the coins raw under $150 on ebay. Give Ian a call at Great Collections to discuss.

You note that the coins belong to the family. Selling coins on ebay is work taking the photos, setting up the ebay listing, packing the coins, corresponding with the buyers, getting the coins to the Post Office. You need to factor in your time if this is really what you want to do. It would be much easier sending the high end coins to Great Collections and selling the remaining coins in bulk.

If you submitted direct to NGC or PCGS, you are looking at a cost of about $30 a coin for grading with shipping cost. Your photos are not good enough to put a grade on a coin, so the following is ballpark. Peace dollars: Possible: #1?,2?,8? #8 would need to grade MS64 or MS65 and the coin has a lot of small rim dings so most likely AU. #2 the 34 D would need to grade MS and the coin could be AU. #1 coin looks VF and the coin needs to be AU. Morgans: None worthy of grading The #3 - 78CC looks damaged. The typical common date circulated Peace dollars are worth about $20 give a take a couple dollars. The typical common date circulated Morgans are worth about $25 give or take a couple dollars.

Have some Barber coinage pics taken but on same setup. Should have gotten a macro scope. Hopefully moot. Have a consultation with a coin collector from Westchester tonight to buy all/some of the silver 'coins' not weight. Might be back, hopefully not. This pic is bit off subject but found these silver art bars too. Kinda cool and worth a couple bucks..... Sorry for pics.

From what you have posted it looks like your grandfather collected silver out of circulation during the 50's, 60's and 70's. I collected during this time and I could find common date silver coins in circulation, but it was rare to find a key date out of circulation and hard to find better dates. In the 60's a lot of people collected silver coins out of circulation. I wish you the best on whatever path you take on your collection.

Thanks again. Most of the silver came from tills. My father owned pubs. there are boxes of Carson City Morgans still in the postal packaging, and some 50$ Eagles from 87,and 20+ Walking liberty proof (80's), he purchased too but never sorted. Honestly my Mom's about to give it to the Church...... God Bless one and all. Thanks again for all your help.

It looks to me like some of those morgans could use soak in some acetone, but I'm no expert.

On the Carson City Morgan boxes, most likly GSA issued in the 60's. The boxes contain an uncirculated CC Morgan in a plastic holder. Leave the coins in the plastic holders. These are a real nice piece of history if your mom does give the collection to the church. You may want to ask her for the GSA CC Morgan's as it would be nice to have something special that your dad owned.

One thing to keep in mind is that ebay and or paypal will send you a 1099 if you have $20,000 in sales in a calendar year and 100 listing per month. You need to be careful since your basis for tax purposes is $0 since it's an inherited collection. Just something to keep in mind.
