Coin rolled a nice little 50's rim Cud...but that dirty be-hind is a bummer.

Try to soak it in pure acetone over night it should help a bit. Nice find

The edge of the die that forms the rim on the coin has broken away.
1959-D-Cent-With-Rim-Cud
Note the step down on the die, that forms the rim. When a piece of this breaks away from the die, it leave a rim Cud that is taller than the normal rim because the die chipped away on that area.
