Okaaaayyyyy....it has been plated with nickel, tin, zinc, or combination thereof, a "novelty" coin further abused by those dastardly Mason's, and furthermore completely trashed with a jewelry-ready adaption! Oh, for shame!

It's value is virtually zero. There might be a couple counter strike collectors but they would probably be tough to find.

For more information on when that cent was converted into a token, you'll need to track down a Free Mason Historian. Someone from that organization might be interested in it. But I think that they make tons of tokens and it probably isn't rare.
A lot of people collect tokens from all sorts of clubs and businesses. I have some and if someone gave me one like yours, I'd add it to the collection.

I would keep it as a novelty. I haven't found one like that but, I've seen many online with that particular style counterstamp so, it's certainly not rare/valuable. I haven't seen another plated one, though. Thanks for sharing!

It is a counterstamp. A nice find, in my opinion. We do have an ongoing thread for them, take a look! http://goccf.com/t/126486

Some branches of Freemasonry use tokens or medals in their rituals. Wealtheir Masonic brotherhoods commission the manufacture of specially made "Masonic pennies". Poorer or smaller lodges use countermarked coins.
