Best thing to do at this point is keep the coin you found and mark it as Machine Doubling for further study, spend some time studying these pictures very closely, and teach yourself the characteristics that are different. This is an important step in the process of learning the differences that many people skip.

Excellent idea copper coins. I do something similar to personally grade mint state and proof coins by comparing them against certified coins that I have in my collection.

again...great idea!
