From your opinion, do you believe that this banknote has been washed? Notice the wrinkles and waves on the top right corner of the obverse and top left corner of the reverse.

Generally, what are the signs that a banknote has been washed?

Hard to tell from the photos if it was washed without pressing or not. The appearance is of an AU note, uncirculated but with minor handling and bending.

Hold the note up to the light and look for evidence of folding that has been pressed out. If folds are absent, it's a reasonable assumption from your photos the note is not washed. If you see evidence of a fold that has been pressed out, the paper fibers will be soft along the fold, and there should be residual dirt in the fold that is visible to the naked eye. If you hold the note horizontally, the paper should bend naturally with gravity, but not much, as the original paper remains strong. Washed notes will have weaker fibers and the note will bend a lot more or even be 'floppy'. The natural luster, or sheen, of the paper will be absent along the lines of the washed folds, and if washed for a long period of time, absent altogether.

If you don't like the note, return it.

Go get two nice crisp new notes of little or no value, fold one of them to XF or VF grade, and put the folded note, not both, in a tray in your sink. Cover the note with warm water with Dawn liquid soap, then go away for an hour or so. Return, and gently rinse the washed note, then remove it from the tray. Place on blotting paper, under about 15 pounds of books or weights for a day or two.

Then compare the paper of the two notes, you'll readily see the difference in texture, luster, strength, etc.
