Sad to see such a great contributor to our hobby pass. His knowlegde will continue to influence and teach us all. Heres a coin from his collection I picked up a few years ago. Not a US coin but I guess it could be considered a colonial. Pretty cool striking error.

Good idea!

I do not have one to share, but will surely enjoy seeing what everyone has.

Here's an article by the Times on his life and death, https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/16/...s.html?_r=0. Hard to believe he was 102 in that picture.

I just bought a coin a couple of weeks ago from maybe the last auction of his collection. It's a lightly circulated early half. When I received the coin, it came with a bit of exonumia- the original paper envelope Mr. Newman had the coin in.

Very nice!. I was at a local coin show last month. I was surprized to see a few very sharp collectors there that were in their 90s.

I have two 3CS, will have to dig them out.

One I bought at the 1st sale, IIRC it was the 6th cheapest lot.

The other I lost at that sale. 2 weeks later it showed up on ebay, BIN for less than my underbid.

Both came with the original paper envelope with grade and price.
