Some time ago my husband and I came across this quarter. He jokingly said, "...found you a Copper Quarter" as he always tries to add to my collection. Sure enough I put it side by side with my silver 25c. I'll post the pics

The quarter is damaged. It has been exposed to the environment, probably spent some time on or in the ground. There is no added value.

Keep looking and keep asking questions though!

@PBJ1523, first welcome to CCF. Second, I agree that some sort of environmental exposure is the most likely reason for the color on this coin. It looks kinda neat and so may be worth adding to your collection for that reason, but otherwise can be spent.

I agree. Always a keeper if you find value, whether it be sentimental (a first curiosity) or as an example for future comparison.
