I have 2 different notes the first one is suppose to be French Pacific Terr. P-5 but will also come up as New Caledonia.
The second one is suppose to be New Caledonia but will come up in French Pacific Terr.

What is the right way to attribute these?

I'm not seeing any listing for the new 500 franc from FPT as New Caledonia at all.

For the second note, the signatures are the key, I believe. FPT came along after some years of New Caledonia issues.

first one I can only find a listing for FPT

Second - if from New Caledonia, will have NOUMEA overprint on the reverse. Yours is FPT.

OK so both are FPT, the second one do you have a Pick# for it.
I can't find a # that fits with 3 signatures.

The second note with the man on the right comes up here,

https://www.pmgnotes.com/priceguide...e-Guide.aspx

but can't find one with 3 signatures, so I'm still asking where does it go?

The link does not take you right to it you will have to
but in New Caladonia
then ALL
then 500 francs

I find banknote.ws an excellent reference for signature varieties. I've found several times in the past pick will list signature varieties but missing signature tables to identify - East Caribbean States and Gambia spring to mind, this site certainly saved the day.
