I would never buy this coin in the first place but if it ever came in to my possession the first thing I would do is cut it out and give it to my grand kind to play with. Im not sure who or why someone would want this in their collection. http://auction.auctionnetwork.ca/19...XR_i28614329

I guess the fields are nice, just the fact the Auction Network has it, tells the story

Worst part of this coin is even if you got it for a dollar by the time they added their fees and shipped it to you with packmail you would be in to it for about $35.00 I think that is their minimum charge. The couple time I've won items through Auction network I thought I was getting a deal but after everything I could have bought the same coins on ebay for the same price or less. It might be different if you spent thousands of dollars but I dont think so.

I generally see beauty in most coins but I must agree with you. The ugly duckling. Its proof that sometimes the grade on the package is irrelevant. I'd rather have a MS-60 with good eye appeal rather than this one. I also agree about Auction Network - you think you're getting a good deal until all the fee's and shipping charges pile up. ebay is much better IMO.

Some crazy person actually bid $200.00 on it !!! Believe it or not it had a reserve on it so it didn't sell. WOW

I don't understand why anyone would get a coin that looks like that and get it slabbed in the first place. Hideous!

You guys better stick with PCGS and avoid ICCS altogether.
Personally, I prefer ICCS's technical grading over PCGS's philosophy.
I know, I know.....ICCS's grading has slipped lately, but I'd still take an ICCS ms65 with near perfect fields and 'ugly toning' over a PCGS ms65 that is eye appealing but has fields very much marked up.

It's all a matter of preference. These types of coins have to be seen in hand. Saying that, A 1967 MS65 Dollar is ridiculously overpriced in Trends ($450). A 67 with good eye appeal currently sells in the mid $150 range.

Yes, have to agree, I can see why it didn't sell.

I ended up with 5 ugly ducklings like this that I took in order to complete a deal. They were all 1966 and as ugly as the one shown. I cut them out of their ICCS MS-63 and 64 holders and tossed them in my scrap silver bucket.
