I ran across this excellent message board trying to get information on my dads Colonials...but his main collection is Canadians. When I told him about this site he wanted to get everyone's thoughts on 6 or so of his nicer/key coins. The first two he asked me to get feedback on is a 1947 half curved 7 ML, which is in another post, and this 1948 half. He is curious what people would grade this at?   |

MS60 in an ICCS holder maybe 61 in an NGC holder. Too many marks and it appears to have some patchy hairlines .decent Lustre Average Reverse Strike. Overall a nice 1948 Half..

I'd say a solid MS-62. MS-63 if you're lucky. Great eye appeal - I love it.

Thanks for all the input on this as well, I will note this as a MS-61/62...being a little conservative. I will be posting his 1890 and 1870 for inputs next.

I suspect this coin looks better in hand. Flash picks many things up. MS-64 for me.
