1957 D? LMC - Possible Die Break/Mm?

need your opinions on this. fits the size of a mintmark and I can even make out a slight serif but its most likely a huge die break/chip or some other very logical explanation.

It's a large die chip. It can't be a gas bubble because it is pre-1982 and not copper plated. It is too small to be considered a die break (the threshold is 4 square mm).

An interesting find, all told.

Just a die chip that eventually formed to look like a 'D'. But it is just a chip Note on the 7, the die wear is also flowing towards the rim. Same with the die chip on the '9'. It flow in that direction because of natural die wear. This the shape that looks like a 'D'. Mint marks don't move.

Thanks coop. There usually a logical explanation like that, but it's strange when you go through a bunch of 57 D's and then run into this
