New add: an early (George II era) British evasion halfpenny. Beautiful "coin" with lovely surfaces and a good provenance. Quite scarce compared to the George III counterfeit and evasion issues. Indeed they are. I have 3 books just on the subject and there are 4 more that are out there to purchase.

1892 Christopher Columbus Columbian Exposition Souvenir Medalet I have seen various 25 mm medalets like this with the same reverse and some with a reverse of three combined busts of Washington Lincoln and Grant, There are numerous busts and styles of Columbus on the front of this medal that have the same reverse. This one is a bit more scarce. It may have been attached to a stick pin by a ring through the hole. All I have seen are holed without a ring or stickpin. It may also be part of a ribbon. This little item and the next post about an 1915 Panama Uncle Sam medal I make were inexpensive because they appear to have some environmental surface issues. From past experience, I have confidence that I can conserve these both to look much nicer. The images will be replaced when my non damaging conservation is completed.

1915 Panama Pacific Uncle Sam So-called Dollar  I have the much more elusive version dated 1916 already but wanted a companion 1915 so this one will do. It will get some careful conservation and these images will be replaced with my results later on. For now, the top image pair are the sellers images, and the bottom are what I have come to expect ( worst case scenario ) I think there is better strike detail to what these images show too. My fourth variation of this medal is the brass version. 1926 Philadelphia International Sesquicentennial Exposition So-called Dollar.  The 250th anniversary is not very far off. Seems like yesterday we were all excited about the Bicentennial! About 6 years from now and we'll hopefully be getting all Red, White and Blue again! That's three great ones TNG. You have been busy.
Other than that Merriam medal I posted a few pages back I have been inactive on the buying front. I hope to hit a coin show next week, so hopefully I will find some nice, affordable stuff.

Thanks guys! The 1915 Panama Uncle Sam conservation is going well. See this post. http://goccf.com/t/301479&whichpage=125#2965187First a soaking in acetone, then a layer of Verdi-care, later, gently dabbed off 90% with a tissue and leaving to dry in a paper 2x2 manila envelope. The edges are not chipped, that is the tissue overlapping. This image exaggerates the very slight reddish oxidation most obvious on the reverse. I am going to bet that it turns darker brown with the Verdi-care as it dries. Even if nothing happens except the medal dries, it already looks much better than these pictures. The red is exagerrated at least 300% here compared to in hand. My camera picks it up and makes it look worse under flash. Not my final result. Image will update later in earlier post when done.  It started out like this. My bottom image was worse but closer to what it looked like when it arrived.  It's Done, Here's the final product.  I have a feeling it might settle down more over time.
