TNG Bedrock of the Community United States 10284 Posts	Posted 10/04/2018 11:08 pm Lets take another trip up the Hudson! 1909 Hudson Fulton Celebration Yonkers N.Y. Medal This unique medal was designed by E Fuchs. There are many examples of these medals bearing "The American Numismatic Society" on the border. This medal has "Yonkers N.Y." on the border instead, implying that it was perhaps produced in much smaller numbers for the portion of the celebration specific to Yonkers. I can't find another with Yonkers anywhere. (see it on right photo at about 7 o'clock ) Here's an interesting account specific to Yonkers celebration. http://victoriansource.com/id24.html I have a similar medal that is looped and does have "The American Numismatic Society" on the border in very nice condition. These both seem to be silver plated bronze and are about the same size. I think it is pretty neat to have these two quite similar but certainly different medals in my collection.
