Wanted group consensus on this pick. I am sure I matched up 1944 p wddo-002 from Brian's nickel listings.

Do you have the link? I see a lot of die wear towards the rim.
I'm not seeing the doubling on your coin from the images provided. Try to get images similar to the ones on the site and then we will have a better time seeing if this is a match or not.

May be wrong but I'm seeing Die Deterioration. Although the 4's look interesting.

Check the locations of the doubling closely. It might be a later die state than the image have provided. Or it maybe that it is not it? The bases of the devices give me hope it might be something? So I would welcome more pictures. I might see something that you haven't seen yet, or maybe not...
Here is a side by side of the DDO and a normal coin:

Did you notice the listing in Brian's is for a Denver mint?

I am not convinced if this is a DD,as Coop mentioned the coin shows a lot of die wear.

There is a DDO-002 listing in VV which has a distinct die clash in front of chin and another one in the Knot.

I do think it is a late die state of WDDO-002. The bottom of the letters are much larger than usual, even considering the die wear.

That was what was catching my eye. The DDO page on Brian's start off with the Denver DDOs first then the "P' mint ones are lower on the same page.

I'll try to get to them a little later. I've got to take off now.
Here is a side by side with the 002 and cleatis87 images:

I did some updates with some other images of his images and a side by side of a normal coin:
1944-P-Nickel-WDDO-002-Pickup
1944-P-Nickel-WDDO-002-Pickup

Mint mark locations were very close, but slightly different.
So I feel this is a doubled die, but not the 002 on Wexlers site. I'm not sure if the die wear could have affected these devices, but I'm not leaning that way right now. So you might want to submit images to Brian and see what he thinks.
