Now this is something I don't understand. Twenty five years ago Somalia really wasn't a country at all, but rather a piece of ground where tribes fought each other (Black Hawk Down.) So, the gold coins are minted in Bavaria, but JMBullion's description says that they may not be of any legitimate face value and therefore worth only melt weight. So, where does the gold come from? From Somalia? I don't think they have any gold. From Germany? Does the Bavarian Mint have the gold and they enter into an arrangement with another country (Somalia has a real government at the moment) to use the name of the country on their product? And there is a question about whether it's even legal tender. Is it even a coin then or is it another round?

I think that it doesn't matter whether they are rounds or coins. But check my thread on Somalian elephants and read the info I found on the first posts on that thread.

God I love the Somalian elephant series, this year I am glad they made a beautiful coin again, unlike last years cartoonist depiction of an elephant lol

JM Bullion is legit I've been following them for years, yet I'm not a buyer.
