I found this coin in a pile of coins laying around the house. Looks to be made of copper. It weighs 1.7 grams and had a diameter of 20.0mm. The front shows a shield with a diagonal line cutting through it, possibly a coat of arms. The reverse of the coin reads FR on the top line, B.G.IV and the bottom line reads R.M. If you reconize this coin I would love to know what it is, thank you. *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

This is a coin of the former county of Reckheim, which was located in nowadays Belgian Limburg, near to the Maas river. The lords of Reckheim were elevated to the rank of count by emperor Ferdinand II. The county was a small state which included some 3 or 4 villages. The lords (later counts) became rich by making coins which were too light, but looked almost the same as the coins of the neighbouring states (Netherlands, Liege), so they could decieve illiterate users who were not able to see the small differences. Your coin bears the shield of Utrecht, but not the lettering of a coin of Utrecht, which would be something like "Traiectum". Instead your coins reads as FRA .EG.LV R.M. It is not known where this legend stands for, but there is a theory it stands for FRA(nciscus) EG(on) L(eodiensis) V(iosatum) R(eckheim) M(oneta) = Frans Egon, guardian for the minor counts Franciscus Gobert and Ferdinand Gobert, struck at Vise in the land of Liege, coin of Reckheim. The coin must have been struck between 1665 and 1673. This information comes from the Dutch website http://www.duiten.nl/reckheim.html where it is cataloged as Reckheim number 32. The image is taken from that website

@zipzim, welcome to CCF. I hope that you will post some other coins from your collection.
@bart--nice work on that identification. I really had no idea of where to start!

Wow, this is a much more interesting coin than I had thought. What would you suggest this coin's rarity to be and if it is valuable or maybe it's just a unique museum piece?

I don't see this coin listed in my 1999 edition of Krause and I'm not sure if it has been added since then Therefore, I'd suggest scouring the interwebs for auction records from previous sales to get a better idea of the value of this duit. Here is one to get you started (lot #343): https://www.numisbids.com/n.php?p=s...75&cid=13785

The nearest seems to be Reckheim KM99.
The valuation seems not to have changed since 2008.
