Usually just a lurker on this site, but recently came across a topic that requires the expertise of this forum.

I've always had a strong interest in zeppelin airships. One cool thing about zeppelins is there are a lot of collectibles related to them as well. Recently, I acquired my first zeppelin medal, a commemorative German medal built from the wreckage of airship LZ4. After doing some research, I've noticed that most of the zeppelin medals out there have a Kaiser number associated with them. For example, the medal I got is Kaiser-303.2. As of now, my efforts to find more information on these Kaiser numbers have been unsuccessful. Can anyone give me more info on them such as where I can find the full listing of them or any other info?

Thanks in advance!

@WZ, first welcome to CCF. Second, it looks like this may be the reference book that you seek:

"Medaillen Plaketten Abzeichen der deutschen Luftfahrt", by Hans Kaiser:

We are pretty visual folks here on CCF. It would be super-cool if you could post a pic of your medal! Thx.

Thank you Spence! That is exactly what I was looking for. Now to try to locate a copy of the book for a slightly more reasonable price. Seems like the reference books on so many of the things I collect were printed in the 80s and 90s but are now OOP, and therefore command high prices.

I've never had any luck trying to photograph a coin clearly. They always turn out quite out of focus. I just don't have the right equipment. But, here is someone else's pic of the same medal.
