Tourist copy fake, yea, don't sell the ranch yet. Characters appear too large, rim wrong, shouldn't be magnetic at all, steel not used then.
Rest in Peace

These are virtually worthless 99% of the time. Only earlier issues hold some value, but if they do have value China is probably reproducing them.

Indeed, it is a Chinese Cash coin. From the reign of the Guangxu Emperor, 1875-1908. As for the Chinese Cash coins, watch out for fakes, as there are quite a lot of fake Chinese Cash coins being sold by dealers as genuine.

Hopefully, one of our cast cash experts can weigh in, but for the moment, I'm not completely in agreement with @crazyb0's assessment on this one. Your piece looks like a Hartill #22.1308 to me. The characters for Guang Xu tong bao are a little larger than earlier Qing Dynasty cash and the rim seems about right. On the other hand, despite the documented addition of scrap brass to the alloy starting in 1887 AD, these should be 60/40 Cu/Zn and therefore non-magnetic.

Spence. when I used my regular magnet it would not pick it up. A very strong magnet that you would have to pry a steel coin from will only just pick it up

Using powerful rare earth magnets can be misleading when it comes to detecting fakes, as a rather large number of genuine "non-magnetic" coins stick to them. I've got a dozen ancient Roman bronzes that faintly stick in this way; the same with my Chinese cash. So "being slightly magnetic" would not necessarily be a sign of fakeness.
