1967 Quarter. Is there a possible error. The second A in the word AMERICA is whole, there is no space in the center of the A that usually defines the A. It is the very same for the A in the word DOLLAR. I have provided pictures and would appreciate your opinion. Thank you.

The A in AMERICA looks damaged and may explain what you see. The A in DOLLAR may just be due to circulation wear or possibly from a small die chip that caused the upper part to fill in on the coin. I can still see a hint of what is supposed to be there, though.

Die wear could also be involved. Either way, it's nothing to get excited about.

There is nothing wrong with keeping it, but if you continue on looking for errors this one might get spent at some time in the future.

It was probably damaged in a vending machine. Way to tell? See if it is parallel to the rim. (first clue that it was mechanical damage)
