1955 S Lincoln Cent Possible Die Chip At Liberty? Or MD?

Something is going on between the "B" and "E" in the word liberty.
Would it even be a die chip? Looks like extra material, I wish it was a DD, its in good condition. Please take a look and let me know! Thanks in advanced!!

Yes, die chip - that is called a "BIE" error. Nice Lincoln Cent error.

Nice find

I'm not an expert but What you have here is refered to as a "BIE" cent/penny. It is a die chip between the B and E. I beleive most common in the 1950's . I'm sure some of the more knowledgeable will chime in shortly with a more informative answer..

I'll go you one better - I was the only guy in shorthand class (2 years) in high school, and that skill (plus typing) eventually kept me stateside during the Vietnam War.

Looks to be 004C with the chip in right wheat and the die cracks on both I believe I see all the markers for that double check

Great find! That this a "BIE" cent. It's a Die Chip between the B and E that caused this error. Common on the 1950's Wheat cents since the U.S. Mint over used the dies past retirement.

Thanks Mrzllewellyn for the reference, you are right on! I didn't even look at the back and it does have those markings of 004C.

I like that Mr Frog took shorthand! My sister took shorthand and I couldn't tell what the heck that even was!
