I'm from Houston,TX,USA....now living in Hollywood,CA.

I've got what looks like an all-zinc (devoid of color) penny.

2011D should be copper-colored....? Is this the same situation as the
1941 zinc penny?

#1:
to the CCF!

#2: We'll need pictures to determine whatcha got. (See tutorials at top of page)
#3: There was no 1941 zinc penny, but I think you're referring to the 1943 steel cent.

@r vaughan, first welcome to CCF. Second, pics would definitely help, but your coin may have been plated at some point after it left the mint.

Photos and weight in grams essential. If you have one without plating, that's a great find. But the chances are nearly zero.

Question to poster: are there clear details on your coin? If you see IGWT, LIBERTY date and ONE CENT USA, and Memorial steps, Lincolns beard and hair....you do NOT have a mint error if you see these details. Your coin is either stained (most likely) or electroplating in reverse has stripped copper plating off it.

Don't quit your day job yet.
