Hi,
I am beginner, and I am trying to understand what happened to this coin and , so I began searching on the internet about the coin and found one explanation that seems adequate:
"striations on the planchet caused from scratching imparted by the roller press used to create the proper thickness of planchet prior to the blanking process. Near the end of the roll sometimes the clad strip gets pulled through." https://www.PCGS.com

Is this the correct explanation of the paralell lines

Thank you

Those look more like linear plating bubbles than roller lines.

Not a premium for the coin. What ever it is. More of a planchet issue.

Many factors can happen. It is definitely a production problem, but not an error, just comes with the territory. If there was any residual debris, air, oils, fibers when the plating was applied, this would cause a oxidation under the layer of "zinc rot" which could form those lines after the striking of the coin. I think that is a more plausible explanation than roller lines. A planchet with a line "stiration" will flatten out under the hydraulic pressure of stamping over the "high" points, such as the bust. Lines are present, this is formed post strike, hence, zinc rot.

I agree with Crazyb0 as to the options of what caused the effect though I feel that because the lines are consistent in direction, obverse and reverse, the rollers played a starting role in creating this anomaly.
Classic roller lines , no . Augmented roller lines...... ?
