Looks like we're down to 2 countries/territories: Burkina Faso and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands!

However, I hope we continue touring the world even after we've checked everything off our list. Maybe we could add some other entities to visit, like the South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands or the British Indian Ocean Territory?

In the meantime, let's go from Colombia to Brazil with this 1975 5 Centavos (FAO Commemorative):

I am sure there are probably a couple places I forgot to list (like the British Indian Ocean Territory, before we actually went there), but if they are places I forgot, I do not know what they are!

If there are some places I forgot to list, they are probably islands that are currently territories to modern countries. Otherwise, for micro-nations, the only one we have visited was Lundy. Some other areas we have not visited yet include Abkhazia, Nagorno-Karabakh, and Somaliland, but none of them are technically countries. I would personally count those as being part of Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Somalia, but if anyone would like to get to those places, we can always try.

(The reason I do not count those specific places is because I do not want to keep track of every coin-issuing place. That would be way too many German/Austrian/Indian/Spanish/etcetera states for me!)

That is a very good point. I think our list is solid, and I thank you Joseph for creating and maintaining it! I look forward to our continued travels around the world even after it's completed.

According to sap's post over in the World Coin thread about countries that do not issue coinage:

Quote:
The issuing of coinage has long been seen as a "right" of an independent country, so very few countries have never issued any official NCLT coinage at all. Ivory Coast has issued some NCLT. Neighbouring Burkina Faso, also a WAS member-state, has never issued an official coin in its own name.

So I think that any West African CFA franc would count as a coin from Burkina Faso. Otherwise, we could never cross it off.
*Edited for typo.

Up until that thread in Numista was posted, I was also under the impression that Burkina Faso did not issue any coins. And as far as I know, none of them have reference numbers yet (which I would assume is due to how new they are).

Even so, we have already visited Burkina Faso through a coin from West Africa, so I guess that is something...

That's a good point. It seems like the best thing to do is wait and see if they get real or fantasy reference numbers.

Obverse of that Ghana coin is such a neat homage to earlier coinage eras.
Thanks for posting it. Never seen before.
