Hey, pepactonius! Look at where that Burkinabe coin is on the Numista catalogue now.  Apparently, because it appears on the MCI-mint's website ( here), the coin was moved. So... can Burkina Faso be crossed off the list?  Edited by Joseph7420

Thanks for posting it. Never seen before.  That coin really caught my eye in the world coin bin of my LCS due to its size, design, and toning. I can't count it toward my OFEC set because it's demonetized, but I also couldn't pass it up for a quarter. So it's found a happy new home. That leaves only the Keeling-Cocos Islands, along with other obscure or obsolete places, like Tannu-Tuva, Abkhazia, Seborga, Ryazan, Cabinda, Dorpat, Liege, Gold Coast, Ionian Islands, Pskov Republic, Nagorno-Kabarakh, Transnistria, Sealand, Saarland, Tatarstan, Riau, various Crusader States, etc. |

If people want to go to more un-visited places like those ones, another list can always be made. We could include those smaller no-longer-country places, or those larger no-longer-country places (like German East Africa, for example). If we do extend the list though, I am not exactly sure how to count all of those places. For the larger ones, one would probably have to chose the modern country the coin represents. But for a smaller one like Tatarstan, would we have to get to Russia first, then go to Russia to leave that place? |

If someone plays a country that no longer exists, they should choose a modern day country that the coin will represent. The country chosen must be part of the countries' original territory and must border the last coin played. Quote:

A rule has been made for this situation. you may backtrack if someone plays a totally landlocked country. whether it still exists or not. If someone plays Italy and I play the Vatican city, then the next poster can go straight back to Italy as this is the only way out. This is the only situation when a U-Turn is allowed.
