numismatist6 Valued Member United States 360 Posts	Posted 12/04/2017 8:45 pm This is one really crude example. The date I think is 1798 with Carolus II. The reverse has no denomination or mint mark. The assayers' initials are M.F. The size is 28.1mm, weighs 4.90 grams and has a silver ring to it when dropped though the color indicates might be brass. See the Stacks Bowers Sale: Dave Wnuck Collection : November 2012 - Lot 6934. In my upcoming book "Forgotten Coins" I close out this Counterfeit Family with ~ 50 more examples with the current variety total at 153 varieties. In the book I list varieities 100-150 approximately. 50-100 were in the Colonial Newsletter update (See Eric P. Newman Portal) and the ANS COAC Conference of 1995 or 1996 ... at this point maybe one new variety is discovered every other year ... we have unquestionably HIT THE WALL IMO.
