Not there the tip of his nose if you can zoom in you should be able to see it

@wendell, when I zoom in on the nose, the pic gets too pixelated too see any potential doubling. Can you please take and post a new pic of just the area of interest? I do see the hit on the bridge of George's nose, but it sounds like you are also seeing something else.

I can't really tell because of the lighting but, it is probably MD. I can see the same directional MD on the first S in STATES. Wexler has one DDO listed for this coin and it doesn't appear to match:
