This coin appears to be either a split planchet or a blank split before striking. Can anyone tell me more about this, and how rare it is or its grade. If it is worth it - where do I go to get it authenticated. Thank you.

Sorry, but that reverse has been ground down to remove most of the design. If it had been struck on a split planchet, the obverse design would not be as clear as that because of the missing metal to fill the devices on the die. So, it is PMD (post-mint damage).

I think the reverse was ground by something.
