Has anyone heard of a 2c cent coin on a larger planchet?

Normally 5.2g and 21.59mm width but apparently this one weighs 5.15g with a width of 24mm.

A 24mm planchet wouldn't fit in the die for 2 cents as it would be too big, or it's be 'rolled' to make it larger.

Other options, mint sport to me, or it's a counterfeit of some kind.

Got any pictures?

It looks like even though it couldn't fit, it did.
See in the bottom left of the coin how there's a ledge? I reckon that's where the outside of the die smooshed the big planchet.

OK. Here are a couple more term for you to research: 'out of collar', 'broadstrike', 'broadstruck'

The following link will take you to an excellent site for Aussie coin errors:

Great find BTW, and it also appears to be in nice condition.

To me, it looks like this coin got out of the collar / feeder finger and hence it looks like it got enlarged. That may explain why the weight is similar.

Regardless, an interesting error!
