Regional distributions, always been that way. is why your general circulating coinage is the way it is. When I was buying mass quantities of fiberglass and beer, er, wheat cents, I would look to where they came from. Left coast would have a better chance of D and S mints with less P's. Beast coast would be just the opposite, a preponderance of P mints virtually no S mints and a small selection of D mint. Midwest would have a lot of Common D mints (50's) and P mints of 40's and hardly any S mints. When developing my bulk barrel source for the future sales of these coins, I would purchase per area to even things out, otherwise is way out of balance...why you find such slop on ebay today!

Haven't seen a 2017P in Central Texas yet. Then again, we rarely see new P mint coins here. Also, I do maybe one cash transaction a month.

I've gotten a grand total of 2 2017D cents here. I have seen a good number of D-mint quarters, dimes and nickels though.

Thanks Bump111! Seems like the majority of members that have replied to this are from the mid west to the east coast. Not a lot of west coast folk I guess BadToTheBone, thank you for this topic/thread! I have learned few interesting things from it.

I've only found 5 or 6 P's in the wild this year so far. What I do see are lots of D's.

I've gotten at least 200 P's in change this year in Cleveland OH. I haven't saved any. I don't think there's much to worry about.

I get to Cleveland once or twice a year so I'll have to make sure to do some cash transactions next time I'm there. My worry isn't getting one in change, as I know that will happen at some point, it's getting a nice BU example in change. (And "worry" is probably a bit of an exaggeration. )

I'm in SoCal and haven't seen a single 2017-P cent.
I am actually looking to get a few rolls (even a box) of the 2017-P cent coins...

Very interesting poll taken spruett001 So, you have not found one 2017 P cent, am I to assume that you are on the west coast? I did not see your time zone on the poll that you had
