I was told by an online source that this coin(well, half coin:) was part of a magicians act.(pics front and back of 1 piece) Didn't really see much during my online research that was definitive. Its time to consult the experts.. Any thoughts?

Kim, yep that is one half of a Magician's coin. We see these with some frequency here on CCF. If you use the search function at the top left of your screen with the key words Magician's coin, you can find several other examples to compare against yours.

I've never owned one but it's amazing how much work they did to make those little things.

moxking, I used to think the same thing because I imagined someone at a workbench with some little Dremel tools. But my husband does some business with some tool and die makers and he says they could make both sides in a matter of seconds with the programmable machines they use.
