Welcome to the Paper Money side of CCF.

The first note, with signatures Lyons/Roberts, is worth a little more than the second note with signatures Speelman/White. The nickname given the note is Black Eagle with small portraits of President Lincoln and President Grant. These notes have a premium even in their current condition. I would caution against any conservation and suggest slipping them into currency sleeves before they receive any more handling/damage. A popular note with collectors and not considered rare.

I paid 130 euros for both bills. They are already well kept inside their cases. The second bill has very fragile paper. But what a great emotion you try to have them in hand!
Rest in Peace

A big part of the fun is holding something over a century old and wondering where they have been and how they were used during that long period.

Well circulated, yes. But still a decent pair.
