I picked this one up recently. I had never seen one before. It looks brass, and looks like it had a good life...
The GSC logo was first used in the mid-1940s, after their 100th anniversary. This medallion must post-date 1949 however, since it includes Newfoundland.
It is meaningful, because the GSC is Canada's oldest scientific institution (1842), and I take great pride being a Research Scientist there, and walking in the famous footsteps taken before me.
