Still pretty knew to this stuff, this coin caught my eye because its in amazing condition compared to most of my collection, anyway thanks anyone

I just learned something! I always thought the Queen was on the front of coins. But I haven't dealt with Canadian or British coins for long

That coin is from a set specially struck for collectors,(PL or SP), it was never intended for circulation

The Queen is on the front (obverse).
This is case for all Canadian coins regardless of which side the date appears on.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

with DBM - looks like a prooflike (PL) strike to me.

When it comes to nickel composition business strike 50c coins, 1979 is one of the tougher years to find in MS-64 or better (only 1985 is harder).

Most dealers sell PL singles of nickel-composition for one to two dollars...

It shall stay in the collection I dont have many 50c coins for canada, a couple 2002 ones when they ended them but yea :)
