Go to the bathroom and practice your joy and elation in the mirror. At this point no matter what she gets you, you need to jump up and down with happiness.
I've never received coins, although the wife does know my monthly coin budget. I'm always happy when she doesn't ask me about what I get.
She does let me ramble about a coin or two each week. She nods her head dutifully.

It is so easy to buy for me, coins will do, anytime. Nope, peanuts or a gift certificate. Their time is my favorite gift.

My former wife never wanted to hear about my hobby, but I tell my Mom about the coin collection from time to time. She knows I like cents and half dollars. A couple of years back, I opened my present from her to reveal the 4-piece Kennedy silver set!

I'm taking the cash this year instead of the coins . I am a perfectionist when it comes to my coins . why would I want my semi-non collector wife buy me coins that I would not be happy with .

Quote: I know I'm getting a sweater. Bummer. I should be so lucky. Not one, but two of my sweaters acquired holes in them this year with a third looking worse for wear. I am running short on winter clothing! I do not mind not getting coins if I get things that I need. The money I saved by not having to purchase a necessity can go into the coin budget.

Last year my wife went and gifted me with a gold quarter from the mint.I put it in the safe and have not looked at it since. Every time she ask me if I have looked at it, I tell her just to make sure its still there. I don't want to handle it. But I will never forget this gift. Over the past year I talk about silver coins because I don't want her to spend her money on gold. She has said something about coins and silver . So maybe getting something coin wise in silver ? ? ? What ever you get just love it for her.

She's really bad at keeping secrets and always lets me open gifts early. Unwrapped 30th anniversary silver Eagles Proof and Uncirculated, 2017 silver Eagles Proof and Uncirculated, and a 50th anniversary silver Krugerrand.

I was so wrong. She does know. Stopped at the LCS, I picked out, and she filled, 11 spots in my 50 cent collection, and said "Merry Christmas". Then, she points out a local auction for a 1997 Specimen set, 10th Anniversary for the loonie, so now she has my attention. We won for less than the value of the loonie. Only drag, I have to let her wrap them and wait 'til the big day.

My wife did gave me a MS 1930 P LWC a few years ago. It was a very nice looking coin and a thoughtful gift. She went to the LCS (hobby shop) and said "I want the most expensive penny you have." I guess she was luck he didn't have 1909 S VDB. She was lucky. Not me.
