Still finding old pound coins here across the pond. How long will they be exchangeable for current money? Will vendors still accept them?

Arkie,

Since October 2017, they are no longer tender---they cannot be used to make any purchases in the UK.

One may deposit these coins into the UK bank account.

Your best bet is to have someone who could help you to deposit round pound coins into the bank account. I think it would be a bit difficult as no one wanted to be caught with fake pound coins if they were to help you out.

Unless you have family or have some connection to the UK, it might be somewhat easier for you.

Otherwise, it is best to leave these round pound coins for future budding collectors. :)

Hope this information helps you.

There are a few, laggardly, retailers accepting them up to the end of the year, but otherwise you must now have a UK bank account to cash them in.

Eventually, they will only be good for the metal recyclers, counterfeit or genuine.
