If mirror image, reverse it is one of two things, both NOT a mint error. #1) coin has come in contact with another coin glued together producing the image, will come off in acetone. #2)

Sounds intriguing. Would like to see to properly determine and or rule out any prior horse play. Soak in acetone may help dissolve or dislodge any glue or organic matter. Thanks, Doug.

Adding: Seeing an image now after I EOB above, but not seeing any mirroring described. Good news is my eyes are old, so wait for others to compare. Thanks, Doug.

Crop the image to just show the area you see the letters. Keep in mind these letters will be raised and mirrored if they are transferred from another coin. The incuse lettering in part of the design transferred from the hub to the die. They are no added separately to the die. Because they are incuse in the coin, they are raised letters on the dies. The slightest die movement during the strike will enlarge these devices during Machine Doubling:

Are you also adjusting the Image Quality down to get the file size smaller?
