I'm thinking slight MAD showing a false rim or incomplete backfill on obverse and smaller false rim showing opposing or across from what shows on the reverse. Misaligned die strike and or potential wide collar issue.

I have to ask myself would a fold over Rim Fin this long actually align itself perfectly within the design rim perimeter? Seems struck this way, not folded.

Note some might suggest potential rim Cud. I too would consider it if affected area is raised above or greater than a normal design rim. Thanks, Doug.

It is a rim off-set Cud. The area surrounding the die face, the offset area is effected, but not extending into the flat face/field of the die itself. It was caused by a MAD/finning, at first, the die damaged.

When the strike seems misaligned I say all bets are off concerning rim Cuds and folded rim fins. A wide collar and other issues can produce similar results meaning a false rim.

A misaligned die issue showing this partial blob filling in-between the design rim and false rim is often called a rim Cud even though the dies design rim does not appear to be affected by damage.

If the die is only misaligned, In my mind I see it as a containment breech and not necessarily a broken or damaged design rim needed to be a true rim Cud. Material is pushed back or back filling by the collar trying to fill in and around the breech. That said many are listed as rim Cuds.

I just may be to picky. Thanks, Doug.

Adding: I did check Cuds on coins last night and found no match. If two or more on exactly the same die are discovered, then its easier to claim its a sure thing.
