I found this ended
ebay listing:
380729238902They give a (rough) translation:
Quote:
Translation - To commemorate the 5000th patent filed in 1882 of the 30 March by
Gerard W. von Nawrocki Lauer
Obtain and utilize patents in all countries, J. Brandt & G.W. von Nawrocki of Gerard W. von Nawrocki possessor, jn engineer and patent attorney W. Berlin 124 Leipzig Ste.124
They say it's brass and 30.5mm. Also, the sculptor was Laurer whom I was just reading about earlier this evening.
I also found this link for patents:
http://www.ebooksread.com/authors-e...al-aer.shtmlThat page may not be the patent mentioned because the date is different, but this is what it says:
Quote:
2199. Gerard Wenzeslaus von Nawrocki, Pro-
prietor of the firm of J. Brandt and G. W.
V. Nawrocki, Patent Solicitor and Civil En-
gineer, of 124, Leipzigerstrasse, Berlin, Ger-
many, for an invention of "Improvements in
steam-ship screws." — A communication from
Fritz Maringer, of the city of Diisseldorf,
Prussia, Germany.— Dated 10th May, 1882.
I assume that is supposed to be "Düsseldorf".
