Came across this 25 cent piece. Copper, 25 Cent on both sides, no other writing. Looks old with the number style and cent symbol not crossed. Any idea of it's age and what or where it was used for or what? Thanks.

When a token cannot be trailed to a specific location(s) of issue, they are known as maverick tokens.

With denomination only it is less likely a known location or history will be discovered.
