Here is a 1949 LWC repousse counter stamp. I love when it's obvious that the counter stamp was done about the same time as the coin was minted. Something that has puzzled me about ones like this, where the coin and counter stamp are both worn similarly, is how did it happen? The coin couldn't have been in the wild because wouldn't have been rejected by a coin counter at some point? I wonder if Masons carried these in their pockets as pocket pieces.
