The Lucky stamp could have damaged the zinc cored penny to the point it will now start zinc rot and disintegrate! During my recent visit to Florida to be with family for Christmas we visited Sea World. I noted the penny pressing machines, and although technically not related, thought of your thread here. Why? The machines no linger have people insert a penny, but were pressing a copper blank already supplied. My GUESS is that zinc rot caused by the machines exposing zinc may have been the machines were not being used as much? I know there is a pressed penny hobby. How much squash could a Sasquatch squash if a Sasquatch would squash squash?
