mdbland New Member United States 2 Posts	Posted 04/28/2023 7:38 pm My uncle was a coin collector and give me a 1969 Moon Penny in late 1969 or early 1970 I see pictures of it in this forum and that its referred to as counterstruck I'm seeking more information on it like history Such as who made it or counterstruck it How many did they make How did my uncle get one Was it part of a collection or freebie for buying that years mint set Any info on it would be appreciated I still have the penny and would like to hand it down to my kids hopefully with some additional info Report this Post to the Staff

How many are out there Are they stamped by a machine or by hand I'm new to researching info on this penny I always thought and was led to believe it came from the mint this way but that is obviously wrong Report this Post to the Staff

I've been on the lookout for the type of information you are asking about as well but have found nothing as of yet. I know the counter stamp you have was sold individually as well as in different sets. I'll see if I can take pictures of the different sets I've ran across this weekend.
