Quote: Ronald Reagan counter stamp... Another president in my collection in this series... Nice Pair! I like how the cent dates match their inauguration year.

Another puzzler. This one was shipped to me from Germany. It made it across the Atlantic and back and at some point the obverse was removed and this symbol was added. As well as the three stars above The Lincoln Memorial on the reverse. I also find it interesting that given how deep the large design is the reverse isn't smashed or distorted leading me to believe that this may have been the work of an engraver. If I were forced to guess I would say that this is a version of The Masonic Eastern Star but I don't know. Well. In hindsight now that I've cropped the images and had a closer look at everything it looks as if the entire reverse IS smashed from the force of the obverse being stamped. Also noticed that in that image the letters in the middle have possibly North, South, East and definitely not a W for West. Almost looks like a Q. Edit: Doing an image search I did find one exactly like it on ebay. The seller is a different one than I bought it from. This seller won't ship to the U.S.

Chafemasterj, the German translation of "North South East West" is "Norden Süden Osten Westen", so I think we can rule out that possible origin. However, in French it's "Nord Sud Est Ouest". And the top of the star does somewhat resemble a fleur de lis.

Sounds like a good theory to me.
